Writing by the Water
We spent spring break at a little beach cottage with nothing but waves and wide-open sky. Every morning I woke before everyone else, made coffee, and carried my journal down to the sand. The rhythm of the tide became my writing metronome.
I didn’t plan what to write—I just let the ocean fill the pages. Stories about our family, little things I’d almost forgotten, hopes I hadn’t said out loud. By the time the kids came running out in their pajamas, I already felt full.
Traveling with a notebook has become my favorite family tradition. It turns ordinary trips into keepsakes we can read together years from now.
What’s one memory from a family trip you wish you had written down? I’d love to hear it. 🌊
